title: Wish I could lounge on one of those...

First two days of school: overrr. I'm superdeeduper sleepy in class. Hahaha. And temperature-taking twice a day. Everyone goes, "Why they can't they just close school?!" including the teachers hahh. I'm so sleepy.

And so school starts again tomorrow. It's such a dreaded thought that everything is gonna start again. Ok no more lamentations!

I'm really quite disappointed by the fact that all I've done has gone unrecognised/unacknowledged (or so it seems). It's not that I want to be lauded by every person who exists, but how about showing at least an inkling of appreciation for the time and effort spent? True, the fruit of your labour doesn't always come in the form of material rewards, but still... I guess all I can do now is seek refuge in God.

title: WHEE

HELLOO. This last week has been pretty relaxing for me. I went to town on Wednesday. For something none other than to shop of course. But also for a very nice buffet at Sakae Sushi in Wheelock after which I was so full!

I managed to get quite a few nice items on that grey Wednesday, namely a pair of grey wedges (:D!!) and a casual dress from (haha) Far East Plaza :D There were a few other things too la (: I won't be going shopping for quite a while yet I suppose. Oh ya I managed to get a new pair of track shoes about 2 weeks ago since a small bit of sole from my old adidas pair that I really really like dropped off and my parents forbade me to wear it ): It lasted me about 5 years! Needless to say, my new pair is again from adidas. Somehow people always go back to the brand they've been wearing hahaha.

Haha at Sakae there was this part looking onto an escalator that leads to the num shop next door. There was this guy who wanted to go outside for a while to take a call and I think 'cause he wasn't concentrating and thought that the glass was an entrance, he walked so hard into the glass and the knock was so loud! And then he kind of like staggered out to the shop entrance after realising there was no door. When he came back he was like, "That hurt like shit i tell you!" to his friends. HAHAHA! It was quite a sight to behold man.

Watched Transformers yesterday! It was a good show, as in all the action, the graphics, the transforming and the music made it enjoyable. Not to mention the funny parts too! (: Lollerz. (I have absolutely no idea why the papers only gave it half a star. Whatever; the cinemas are SO full you'll have to book early or you won't get in!)

Today's weather was nice and hot and I went swimming in the morning, had lunch at Siglap and had Chem tuition in the evening. That was pretty much my day haha. I'm gonna watch AYG volleyball with Joni next Sat woohoo!

title: Sitting back

I went for a swim today when the sun was blazing hot. Lovely cheerful sunny weather, just that it'll make me get this ugly swimsuit tanline that I hate 'cause it'll show when you wear bareback stuff. I finally had a lane to myself 'cause it wasn't crowded (: Then there were these 2 guys busy suntanning themselves and when you swim past them you can smell their cologne or copper tone or whatever it was they applied haha.

I finished reading When We Were Orphans by Kazuo Ishiguro; it's such a sad book ): And I managed to do some Chem and a bit of Math - wah so hardworking right.

I think it's such a pity for the AYG athletes down with H1N1 la. I mean, they trained so hard for this games and now they can't play in it ):

Tomorrow I'm going to town and having Sakae buffet in the afternoon :D

title: Delicatessen

Ooh this sounds so appealing! I think Apple's aesthetics are really cool - the look is so sleek and white. Haha.

Yesterday we went to tcc at T3 for a Father's Day tea haha. The food's good although a little too pricey, but once in a while it's good to sample new tastes :D

A huge sandwich :O
Mini pastries with delicious mushroom fillings
Beef tofu with mozzarella - this is really good.
Haha my dad
and the rest of us.
Oh anyway, band this week is cancelled 'cause many people won't be able to come because they went to affected countries. Yeah the usual precautions. I forgot to mention that I went shopping last Thursday and found some 2 dresses and a top. Hahaha (: I still haven't gone to Far East though. And I finally loaded a few more songs into my shuffle after the longest time!

I suddenly feel disgusted with myself 'cause I always forget to do what I have been needing to do for...a very long time.

title: Somewhere in between, that's where I am

I helped out with the English Summer Camp thing for the Vietnamese kids on Friday; we went to the Discovery Centre and watched Monsters vs. Aliens 3D! (: The show was quite good but it isn't really a 3D thing 'cause most stuff don't pop out of the screen. The only thing that seemed really 3D was when the evil squid was eating and his spoon was floating in the air just inches from my face (or so it seemed haha!). Other than that the Discovery Centre trip was a bit of a blur 'cause I was having this irritating headache.

Anyway the Vietnamese kids are really nice and friendly and strike up a conversation very easily even though I only helped out for a day. I hope they'll get to know God during this camp and bring Him back to Vietnam (:

Haha I didn't do much during the weekend. Went for cell and we talked about and wrote down the things we haven't left behind ie stuff that we do that's still un-Christian. After that we played some foosball and then the Strategy Game! Haha. It was my first time playing it and it's actually fun because you can only connect your pieces diagonally, you can eat into other people's space (muahaha) and the colours look really nice together on the board :D i think Mel took a picture.

Ah this week's back to Tue and Thurs band...I wonder if they'll extend the holidays due to the flu thing :P

Looking forward to jazz tomorrow :D And the duck tour thing next week haha.

title: I'm looking longingly at my desktop picture...

And I finally finished my Social Studies Article Review in no less than 3 hours! How awesome. Ok I'm pretty proud of it but I'm hoping when it gets marked the grade that comes back won't disappoint me too much ._. You know mr jalleh. Scaryyy.

AHH I wish there were more opportunities to take photos. I think blog posts are so dull without artfully-taken pictures to spice them up. And the other day I was looking at some other Tioman pics and when I switched windows to my blog the colour contrasts seemed quite dull too. Or maybe it's just the background colour of the posts. But now when I look at it they seem fine. Is it the camera you use????

Somehow I'm in this rather pensive mood. I feel like posting the photos I took in Tassie last year on Facebook 'cause I never found the time to last year.

I feel as if time is just slipping away...the stupid work thing is starting to get at me again. Dang.

title: Did you ever

Hello guys! I'm back from Tioman (: The trip was so so much fun, I learnt loads and we got to see so much wildlife and do so many things some wouldn't get to do in their lifetime (like releasing baby hawksbill turtles into the sea where they belong!) :D And we woke up early in the mornings and went out in the night to the beach with Mr Lim to look for organisms haha.

The first day was mainly spent travelling to Tioman, settling down into the resort and just absorbing the feel of the pristine beach atmosphere.

Stunningly clear waters
Coconut trees against the sea
Melina Beach
And the second day was...SNORKELLING! :D The coral reefs were so awesomely nice, especially off Paya, and we saw SO many things including this huge school of yellow-lined scad. It's amazing how diverse the coral reef is. We got to snorkel in a mangrove too (: but it was a bit too sandy to see much haha. Pity I didn't have an underwater camera so I don't have any pictures for this day ): These are both taken by Wan Ting.

Me, Jia Ming and Natalie.
The yellow-lined scad.
On the third day we went trekking through the forest. Like Tuesday, we saw lots of animals, heard lots of different calls and did a lot of climbing and sliding haha! We found out in the end that we had only trekked about 4km but all the climbing made it seem like 10!

Giant strangling fig :O
A soil corer during our forest survey
The rock crossing :D
The fourth day was pretty relaxing. We woke up early to catch low tide to do our coastal survey and saw lots of cool stuff too. Like organisms we wouldn't normally see revealed themselves to us haha! In the afternoon we learnt how to dig a turtle nest and after that during free time we walked over to the other side of the beach to take pictures, borrowed a beach ball from one of the sec 3s (but in the end didn't play with it haha) and sat on the raised viewing platform to make Rich's card.

A spider conch :D
Super low tide. High tide can go all the way up to the beach.
A juvenile cushion star, We saw a big one during our snorkel.
Me on the swing!
My roommates and me in front of a turtle hatchery (:
Cool erosion patterns and uber clear waters
Sunset...
On the last day we waited 2 hours (!!!) for the ferry and in the meantime decided to eat the famous Ramly Burger! Haha :D It was good stuff! All the photos are on Facebook ;)

I'm really glad I went for the trip. It was such an awesome experience (:

title: Of surf, sand and sun

I'll be gone for Tioman tomorrow. I really hope it'll be a fun trip (hey be envious - I'm going snorkelling woohoo!). I just hope since I don't even know my roommates I'll be able to get along with them and have loads of fun with everyone :P

Today at church the entire church hall was so empty 'cause of camp. (All you camp people rawr) Then later during peace we discovered all the youth people were at the back ._. But at least I was pretty entertained by some important points in the vicar's sermon and his jokes. Lol (:

Later was lunch with my aunt in town and we saw quite a few familiar faces haha! The GSS is really on now and there were plenty of cool buys :D

Ok so guys I'll be off for 5 days to a very sunny beach! Ta!

title: I'll hitch a ride into the sunset

I'm going off to Tioman on Monday :D :D I'm a bit apprehensive about it since I don't know almost everyone going but I hope it'll be fun nonetheless!

I think I need to spend more time off this holidays and not worry about (stupid) work so much. Yes I know I've written down stuff I want to work on but those stuff are making themselves felt more than I'd like them to be felt during...holidays.

Haha oh yeah yesterday Sheena prankcalled me about the English Summer Camp thing. She pretended to be some woman with a thick Thai accent calling from the Thai Embassy saying I'd won some stupid trip to Thailand on Thai Airways. Hah.
"There's a briefing next Tuesday 9 June."
"Uh no I'm not interested."
"What if the meeting were at St. Hilda's Church?"
Lol I was kinda freaked out by then man. HAHAHHAHAA.

I want to go shopping! Perhaps I should drop by Far East again ;)

title: It's hard to come by something like this

I need You
More than words can say
More and more each day
Jesus I love You

I just realised today that I really must depend on God for strength. This song just popped into my head just now and maybe it means something.  'Cause at the rate things are going I won't really have much time to do a lot of stuff this holiday. Tioman next week too. And after you come back from stuff you just feel like not doing work. I mean like, where's the energy?!

These 2 days have been spent (like entirely!) on band camp. Yeah it was awesome awesome fun, especially today's Amazing Race :D And ya la, obviously we've gotten to know the Sec1s better even though some of them need a lot of coaxing to talk in front of us hahaha! And then after camp yesterday I still had jazz (which is also really fun! My batchmates kept asking me to demo ><) and so I am so drained when I get home even though I've had lots of fun during the day. There's this constant irritating feeling of a "Hey how about your work" kind of thing. And I sometimes am sort of short-tempered with my family 'cause of this. That's the worst thing ever.

Ok complain less, appreciate more dude. Guess I've to learn how to just let go of everything else and commit it to Him...
